Fragile – solo exhibition

At the exhibition "Fragile," all the artworks are screen printed on cardboard. Cardboard has a "character" that canvas doesn't, bringing its own stamps, texture, foldings, and cuts. The cardboard also has two "sides": the revealed, visible outside, and the other, hidden side that is meant to keep the object safe inside. On cardboard, the word "Fragile" is often written, a motif that appears in Gabby's artworks. In this way, he anthropomorphizes the cardboard, bringing a sense of humanity to the viewers. These artworks deal with emotions and experience, and the combination of screen printing, images, and text on the cardboard creates an added value and a deeper meaning.

Sweet Lie – Arthura gallery

The exhibition “Sweet Lie” flooded our complex relationship with suger, sweetness and looked with a scrutinizing eye on the food industry and on ourselves. About my artworks: “Nice to Eat You” the (edible) chocolate bunnies threatening with a drawn gun are another proof of sugar being a way of seduction and a trap, from flirting with the viewers to the realization that this is a deception - the bunnies stand full of confidence and emphasize the contrast between the chocolate and the the health threat of its increased consumption. The artwork "Stop" is placed at the entrance to the exhibition and conveys that life is full of dilemmas alongside the desire to gain control. Is it right to stop or let go, is it good or bad, is life only black or white? probably not. As in life, so with sugar, it's a matter of dosage.

“ATOMA” – Holon gallery

The exhibition "Atoma" focused on the black plastic bag. About my artwork: We live in a duality world. The plastic black garbage bag that I printed in Hand-Printed Silkscreen: "Always wish for a happy ending", underwent transformation and moved from a place of garbage, rubbish, and leftovers to an object of another place: happiness, childhood, and hope, becoming a balloon full of helium that floated and was free. Similar to many of my works, the object gets anthropomorphic and actually "talks" with a double meaning. In the video art, the plastic bag/balloon went on a journey in the city until it arrived at the beach. We experienced moments of worry, optimism, and mystery until the moment it rose and disappeared in the sky.

Popup museum tlv

At this special exhibition, artists from different disciplines presented their works, marked by Covid-19 and the future post-pandemic. The spaces were dedicated to the artists' interpretations of the changes and the various struggles that occurred in daily life due to lockdowns, such as fear of going outside and yearning for freedom. The exhibition focused on the transformations caused by the virus and the question of how society and individuals will look the day after.

From Jaffa – Jaffa museum

The artworks for this exhibition were created with a special view towards Jaffa's history, icons, architecture, culture, and more. For my artwork, I was inspired by the story of the first oranges delivery departing from Jaffa port in 1920. Since the state of Israel had not yet been established, it wasn't clear what to write on the oranges...so the spontaneous decision was, "Made in Jaffa." This "oranges story" reflects the story of the city and its people - identity mix, old and new, East and West, entity and identity. The statue which I used for my artwork I found at a Jaffa flea market and stuck original Jaffa stickers onto it. Through this process, I created a transformation of the figure, making it a brand, while combining old and modern, and manipulating it to bring new meanings.

A tribe of brothers and sisters – Klang house

The exhibition “A tribe of brothers and sisters” refers to the attack on October 7th and it took the position of revival: the volunteering, the undertaking and the unity that has come after the dark days which Israeli people were suffering. About my artwork: while the government’s systems didn’t function, whom get over the shock were the citizens. Hundreds of projects and volunteers appeared day after day, small and large: all of them to support soldiers, evacuees, injured and whoever needed support, transportation, encouragement, food, clothes, equipment and other. The civilians became an army, and that why I created ”units” and unit badges to prominence sections. “Fabric house” in south Tel-Aviv, which sewed and prepared equipment to the warriors voluntarily was an inspiration to my unit badges series that reflected the spirit of the people for assistance and support.

Reshuffle – 3×3 Active gallery TLV

The exhibition "Reshuffle" brought an interpretation to the days of COVID-19 and the day after. Regarding my artwork, "Map of a Separated World": After years of discussing globalization, everything changed in an instant. Distancing, quarantine, and other forces have led to new developments, such as strengthening the community and local behavior. Rather than one world, we find ourselves in our country, our city, and our community: many "new worlds."
